Through education, preparation, advocacy, and networking with citizen groups and emergency services organizations, FireCAP, Inc. seeks to reduce wildfire risks in the Urban/Wildland interface of Texas.

FireCAP, Inc. is a citizens' organization with statewide impact on reducing wildfire hazards in the Urban/Wildland interface.

Wildfire Preparedness for Homeowners is a three-hour workshop aimed at people who live in areas at risk of a wildfire. The workshop covers the following topics:

• How to determine what the wildfire risk is on your property
  
• What you can do to reduce that risk, and
  
• How you can help your volunteer fire department to more effectively fight a fire on your property

The Texas Forest Service has approved this workshop and the materials it provides. The class is provided free of charge to any community group.
